Springtime makeup look

Its that time of the year where we finally ditch the berry toned lips and silvery smoky eyes and trade them in for pinky nude lips and  A LOT of highlight. So here’s my take on spring time makeup look.
Ok so firstly  just prepped and primed my face like I do every day.

I know — I look very attractive right now

First off I cancel out all of that redness. I used the Max Factor Colour Corrector Stick in green (if you want to hear a little more about this product click here). I apply this is a very thick layer over all the places on my face where I have redness until you can’t see any redness on my face at all.

IMG_3489I then use a damp makeup sponge and blend the green out so that when I apply my foundation I won’t have any green peeking through. I do it enough so that it’s blended but I ensure that you still can’t see any redness whatsoever.

IMG_3492.JPGOnce I’m happy that my face is now redness free I apply my foundation. I’m using my trusty Max Factor Face Infinity All Day Flawless 3 in 1 Foundation (which I have previously mentioned here). This is my go to foundation, it is very high coverege and has a demi-matte finish. I blend this out using the same damp makeup sponge, starting from the middle of my face and then blending out. By doing this you achieve a much more natural looking finish and prevent any harsh foundation lines.

Next I concealer concealer concealer. I always go a bit OTT when it comes to concealer being honest but thats just because I have a lot of blemishes that need covering. My current favourite concealer I’ve been using is my LOreal True Match Touche Magique Concealer (also mentioned here). This concealer is very highlighting so I also apply it to the areas that I apply highlight too.
IMG_3504.JPGThen I powder using my Bourjois Poudre de Riz de Java (which I have mentioned here). This powder is very brightening and so is perfect for spring and summer. And to top it off, it smells really nice too. I apply this all over my face to set my base using my Sigma Large powder brush.

IMG_3515Now it’s time to actually give my face some dimention. Yes, it’s time for contour powder and blush. I use my usual Sleek Faceform Kit in light which as ya’ll will know if you’ve been following this blog for a while now, this is my absoulte holy grail makeup product.

IMG_3506.JPGFor the contour I apply it using my makeup sponge, so that the contour is very precise and then blend it out using my Real Techniques Buff Brush.

IMG_3508.JPGI then apply the blush very, very lightly just above the contour and slightly on the apples of my cheeks.

Then I apply this beautiful highlight on my chin, cupids-bow, cheekbones, nose and forehead.

IMG_3520.JPGAnd that is my base done, so now it’s time for eyes. For this look I’m going to be doing a golden, shimmery eye smoked out into pink. I’m actually going start at the crease, which I know may not seem like the ‘normal’ way to do a smoky eye, but trust my this way the whole look, looks 10000% times more blended and just generally looks better. I’m using the shade Buzz from my Naked 3 Palette (mentioned here and here) and just using the fluffly brush that comes the palette and just work it into the crease.

IMG_3525.JPGI then take the shade Burnout from the nake 3 and apply that using a fluffy base brush toward the out part of my lid.

IMG_3528.JPGI then use the shade Kitten toward the inner corner and lid from my Stila in the Light Palette (mentioned here and here). I then finish off my eyeshadow by applying a little bit of Strange from my Naked 3 in the very inner corner.

IMG_3541.JPGNow no look is complete without a little liner right? I then apply a tille of my Revlon Colourstay Skinny Liquid Liner. I’d try to give tips on eyeliner by honestly it is just practise, practise and more practise to try to get your liner right. I would say though don’t mess around with it if it’s not 100% even, providing it looks ok then it doesn’t really matter because often you’ll try to improve it and then end up making a mess.

IMG_3546.JPGI then finish off my eyes by applying a coat of my Benefit They’re Real! Tinted Eyelash Primer, and then two coats of my Kiko Longeyes Plus Active Mascara which is just my absolute favourite mascara of all time and it’s only £7.90!!!

IMG_3551.JPGBecause this is a spring makeup tutorial I didn’t want too go too heavy on the eyebrows so I just applied a little bit of my Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Mascara to give my brows a little extra structure but while still looking natural.

IMG_3559.JPGTo finish this look I add a little more highlight to my cupids-bow and apply my LOreal Infallible Mega Gloss Lipgloss in the shade 103 protest queen.
