Summer is finally here (even if it doesn’t always feel like it here in the UK), meaning its time to trade in your spring time lipsticks and lip-glosses for funner, brighter summer shades. I’ve tried to pick a wide variety of colours and finishes so that there is hopefully at least one ‘lip pick’ in this posts that interests you. I have also tried to accommodate for all price ranges too!!!
This is a lip-gloss I have mentioned on this blog time and time again, and is definitely one of my all time favourite lip products. It’s creamy formula feels smooth and moisturising on the lips rather than the tacky, sticky feeling many lip-glosses give. It’s extremely long wearing, and is very pigmented. Of course, as with all lip-glosses it comes off slightly when eating or drinking, but other than that, this lip-gloss really does last all day long. The applicator of this lip-gloss is a really unusual shape that makes applying the lip-gloss so easy and precise. This colour is a very pretty, pale pink, making it for any occasion during summer – day or night.

M.A.C lipsticks are well known for being of an incredible quality and that is no exception with this lipstick. Lustre lipsticks have a slightly sheerer coverage than other lipsticks and give a subtle sheen. Their lightweight, creamy formula lasts all day long – even when eating and drinking small amounts. If you prefer your lipsticks to look very sheer then you can apply one coat, however, if you apply one or two extra coats you can quickly make the lipstick appear very opaque. The colour is a beautiful redish-pink grapefruit shade, that is extremely wearable, despite being a brighter shade.

Rimmel’s Kate Moss lipsticks are a staple in many people’s collection. This lipstick is super moisturising and so it is perfect for summer when the heat and humidity makes our lips feel dry and flaky. If your wearing this lipsticks for a long time i’d recommend wearing a lip-liner underneath as after a few hours it does tend to bleed out a little. This lipstick applies really nicely on the lips and is relatively long-wearing. This is a Barbie pink shade that looks divine when paired with a cat eye.

I’m a huge fan of LOreal lipsticks – their selection of colours is truly beautiful and the formulation is extremely creamy. This moisturising lipstick adds a pop of colour to any look. It’s a bright flamingo pink that I love to wear when i’m feeling a little more adventurous with my choice of lip colour. Despite being so bright it is very wearable and just a gorgeous shade in general.

M.A.C’s cremesheen lipsticks are probably my favourite formulation on M.A.C lipstick. They’re highly pigmented, moisturising and longwearing. It’s a beautiful pink with yellow undertones making it chic yet wearable. It is a staple in my makeup collection all year round but in summer, I hardly wear anything else, making it a great investment.

Now I wouldn’t be being honest if I didn’t include this in my top picks. I love this lipkit!!! Kylie has recently brought out new colours specifically for summer also which are also great options if this colour isn’t for you. This redish orange is beautiful and I personally think its perfect for summer. I can’t recommend these lipkits enough, if you want to hear a little more about my opinions on this lipkit you can check out my review here.
