How I Transformed My Skin // My Skincare Routine 2018

Hello again,

After my skin care inspired post this Tuesday I thought I’d share my current skincare routine with you guys, which has truly transformed my skin. I used to have really large pores, patches of dryness and other really oily patches of skin, my skin was really unhealthy looking and prone to breakouts. I always feel like if my skin feels good then I feel good too, my skin is now super soft, less prone to breakouts and has a gorgeous glow. I really love the products I’ve been using and I hope you will too!!

Wash, wash wash!! // Lots of fresh water

I always start off by washing my face with warm water. This cleanses the skin of the muck that has accumulated on your skin over the day and opens your pores so that your skin absorbs as much of the goodness in your skincare products as possible and stops your skin becoming congested.

Cleanse // L’Oréal Fine Flowers Cleansing Milk

This skin milk is great for removing makeup because it cleanses the skin of makeup and removes it without being too harsh to your skin. Milks like this are so much better for your skin that harsh gels or wipes because they don’t strip your skin of its natural oils and keep it feeling lovely and soft. I love this milk especially because the formula lovely and creamy so makes my skin fell gorgeously smooth after I have used it!

Detox wash // L’Oréal Pure Clay Detox Wash

After making sure your skin is nice and clean I like to follow with this detoxifying charcoal face wash. This wash is great because it is really gentle on the skin, but as it contains charcoal it encourages anything blocking your pores to clear from your skin which is amazing for improving the health of your skin. This range of products from L’Oreal is absolutely amazing and if this wash doesn’t tickle your fancy I’d really recommend trying out some of the face masks from the range instead – I personally love the yellow brightening mask!

Exfoliate // Simple Oil Balancing Exfoliant

Exfoliating is amazing for your skin in moderation, it clears the skin surface of any dead skin or debris that may be causing your skin to be come congested which allows your skin to breath. It’s very important, however, that you avoid over exfoliating your skin as it can cause it to become dehydrated which can create a whole host of problems which you can find about here. The maximum I would recommend exfoliating your skin is once a week, my skin is very prone to dehydration so I try to keep it to only once a fortnight.I particularly love this exfoliator as it is very gentle on the skin and the beads in the formula are very small so are great and clearing your pores without irritating the rest of your skin.

Serums // The Ordinary

I’m usually not a big fan of serums because I believe it’s important to keep the number of products you apply to your skin to a minimum, however, when I heard about the brand ‘The Ordinary’ I was intrigued. The ordinary’s creams and serums only contain the ingredient for skin needs and it says on the bottle exactly what your buying and what skin problem it treats. For my skin I use: 100% Plant-Derived Squalane for hydration, Alpha Lipoic Acid 5% for skin radiance and Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA to try to remove my hyper-pigmentation. What I love about this brand is how you can customise the products you use to what your skin needs without needing to worry about bombarding your skin with lots of unnecessary chemicals.

Moisturize // Anatomicals Memorably Good Daily Moisturizer

Moisturizing is one of the most important things you can do for your skin. It maintains a healthy balance of oils and ensures your skin had the nutrients it needs. I love using this moisturizer as it has a light consistency so doesn’t clog your pores, smells gorgeous and the packaging is quirky which I personally really appreciate!!

That’s it for my current skin care routine, I genuinely have seen a huge difference in my skin since I began sticking to a regular routine and now there’s no way I’d ever go back! Looking after your skin is another one of those simple daily practices that can make you feel so much better about yourself!
